Building and strengthening capacity of the local communities to reduce and eliminate the risks of climate change by developing cost-effective adaptation and mitigation strategies while strengthening the sustainable development.
Project Components :
Building climate change adaptive capacity of the local communities, stakeholders and government departments for reducing and eliminating the risks of climate change.
Institutional strengthening and review of national infrastructure including industries and rural risks management system.
Integrated adaptation models implemented in vulnerable areas and consolidate existing national sustainable transport policies and sustainable development.
Legal aspects and policy framework for the risks of climate change at the national level and forestation on sensitive places as well as inventory of GHG emissions.
Gender-based mass awareness campaigns through organizing workshops, seminars, stakeholders’ meetings and interviews and information dissemination.

Expected Outcomes :
Enhanced knowledge on climate management plan, capacity building of the relevant stakeholders and effective use of alternative technologies for reducing and eliminating the risks of climate change.
Climate change management strategies, updated national chemicals management profile and recommendations for regulatory framework and better practices for reducing and eliminating the risks of climate change with scientific methods available.
Climate resilience of agricultural production systems and the most vulnerable agro-pastoral communities strengthened and promoted best use of alternative technologies.
Improved application of policy, legal and financial instruments in the government systems / framework for reducing and eliminating the risks of climate change at the national level with scientific analysis.
Enhanced awareness among the stakeholders and concerned government departments for reducing, managing and eliminating risks and best practices generated.
Streamlining project activities and performance review for enhanced impact.
Expected Outputs :
8,000 people and 25 concerned institutes trained in reduction and elimination of the risks of climate change.
Improved governance framework for controlling and eliminating the risks of climate change in 5 major ecological zones at national level and reduction in GHG emission.
Agro-meteorological assistance systems strengthened, appropriate agro-pastoral farming systems, climate-resilient alternative livelihoods strategies adopted by targeted populations.
Strengthened legal policy and administrative framework of climate change management and climate inventory strengthened in all the provinces and decreased the rate of temperature.
Gender based mass awareness on climate change raised among 1,000 local leader as a network at local government level for pollution-free environment and improved media mechanism.
Project impact would be visible at the national level with elimination of the risks of climate change by 10%.
Promoting ecological conservation through participatory development by the active involvement of community at grassroots level.
